Would be good to have a session on teaching methods in Economics at IEA 2010. A friend of mine had a family emergency recently and I had to give a class at short notice on a topic I am very familiar with. I used the white board and class interaction as I did not have enough notice to do detailed powerpoint slides. Several of the students (who had taken classes from me before) thanked me afterwards for making it interactive rather than just going at slides for 2 hours.
When I did my talk at Bizcamp, I'd no time to put slides together. I just used a mind map, and it worked really well. Not sure how useful it would be for undergrads, but for large-ish PG classes, I think this method would be excellent.
