Saturday saw Bizcamp return to Limerick. This was a smaller affair than last year, but all the better for it. Participants were engaged, engaging, and from all walks of life. Each talk was different, and each talk came at the problem in a different way.
The atmosphere was positive from the get-go. Pádraic O'Maille delivered an excellent talk on attitude in business and life, and he's featured in the video below. If you've never seen this guy speak, make an effort the next time he comes around. He's top-drawer.
I gave a talk on regional development. Stephen O'Leary's talk focused on web analytics for business, and, after lunch, Ted Vickey talked about LinkedIn and social media for startups. John Kennedy talked about next generation networks. Michael Duffy talked about the accountancy element of business planning. Nillson Denver gave us excellent tips on how to get free money (no joke, really), and Daniel Nedelcu, who is doing a course here in UL on project management, gave a talk on 'life after Dell'. Shane McAllister gave us his thoughts on starting up a business by analogy to a marathon in a great talk, and Liam Delaney rounded out the day with a thought provoking and ranging discussion on economics, psychology, and public policy, which I'm still thinking about 3 days after Liam's talk.

We plan to run another, larger, event in October/November, and hopefully we'll see you there. Once again a massive thanks to everyone who showed up, and who gave of their time and effort in organisation: Gabriela, John, David, Shane, Ted, Mark, and especially Dylan, who made Bizcamp Limerick a great event.
I must check out some of the talks later. I don't think I've listened to Liam Delaney talk ever. B.
