Dr. Stephen Cheung has a fascinating paper on the use of a mobile phone messaging system in his classes, which readers of this blog will know I'm interested in.
Here's the abstract and a link to the paper:
Abstract: The author demonstrates how mobile phone text messaging can be used to overcome the limitations of pencil-and-paper experiments without incurring the costs of full computerization. Students submit responses as text messages, which are downloaded into a spreadsheet for automated analysis and receive feedback by return messaging.
